Year 2 Pumpkin Investigation

Year 2 asked questions about pumpkins and used their observational skills to look inside and explore them. They learnt many facts such as: pumpkins first are green when they are growing, then they turn yellow and eventually orange. We had a great (albeit slightly messy!) time.

Once Upon a Time

Year 2 had an exciting start to their Once Upon a Time topic by learning, acting out and completing activities around 4 traditional tales. Here they are re-enacting the Gingerbread Man story by decorating, acting and then eating the Gingerbread Man!

It tasted yummy apparently!

Year 2 walk around Shortstown

Year 2 went on a walk around Shortstown to study the human and physical features of Shortstown. We then compared these to regions in the Arctic and found out how vastly different they are!

Year 2's Unexpected Visitor!

A few weeks ago Year 2 were astonished to find that we had a "break in" from an unknown animal. The  children were very excited. Through some detective work we found out it was a penguin, and we wrote some lovely pieces of creative writing from the perspective of the penguin.
