All week, Shortstown children have been busy taking part in the Big Draw Festival. The theme this year has been STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics). Children did lots of wonderful work through the week, based around 'cells'. Local artist Anne-Marie Stijelja worked with KS2, whilst KS1 created their very own master pieces! Their final piece was put together in a exhibition and parents were invited to come and see the cell. Lots of fun was had by all!

Y1 Balloon Investigation
Year 1 have been investigating balloons. We have been investigating how to make them fly, what happens when you put them in water, how to make static electricity, how to make them pop and change the shape. The children used their observation skills and used lots of scientific vocabulary to explain what they saw.
Year 1 investigate the local area
The children have been investigating our local area and have been identifying the human features of Shortstown.
